Today I cut out all the parts of my paper cutout design and had a go at fixing them together with split pins.
With this design I found that only two main poses come from altering the puppet via its points of articulation, one being a sitting pose and the other standing.
I have started to wonder wether it would be easier to try replacement animation using many different limbs and changing the ones attached to the puppet between each photograph. I though this because it may be easier than worrying about a complex array of multiple points of articulation. However on saying this it could be just as strenuous trying to use replacement limbs. I believe the best thing I can do at this stage is take my draft design and sketches to Mary and seek professional advice on what direction to head next.
